Once the football season was paused worldwide, several Manchester United players asked for permission to fly to their native countries to wait out the delay. A report in Sky Sports noted that United have recalled those overseas players back to the UK to restart training.
This comes shortly after the Premier League released its ‘Project Restart’ plan that is looking at different ways to get teams back to training.
United have not started training at their Carrington facility yet, but the first step is getting players back, so they can quarantine for two weeks per UK guidelines.
Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Victor Lindelof, and Sergio Romero were given permission to leave the country to be with their families in their native countries after consultation with the club in March.
All four overseas players have since been called back to the UK to report to the club this week.
