An interesting rumor in The Daily Mail suggests that Manchester United are considering a potential Paul Pogba swap for Juventus defender Matthijs De Ligt in the summer, once and if the transfer window opens.
Pogba has been linked with multiple clubs in recent months after many feel he has lost his desire to play at United and with one year left on his contract, anything is possible.
Juve defender De Ligt was once a target of United while he was at Ajax and has found life at Italy tough, losing his starting role in January.
Pogba has expressed his desire to return to Juventus, a club he is familiar with having played there for four years before joining with United. If a move happened than a Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo midfield lineup with be very impressive and something that Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is a fan of seeing as well.
Many feel that the coronavirus outbreak will drop players’ transfer fees, making high profile player moves more affordable for teams. The World Cup winning Pogba is now said to be worth only £31m, so this swap deal would suit both sides, with potentially as little as £30m changing hands.
Real Madrid also want De Ligt but it is thought the defender would be more comfortable with a move to England.
