It seems like, with every new day, there is another rumor featuring Manchester United being linked with a different player. Today’s rumor from The Sun re-kindles a name United fans are familiar with, Saul Niguez.
At only 25, the Spanish international has been on United’s radar for some time now and it is suggested that United sent scouts to watch him play during Atletico Madrid’s win against Liverpool at Anfield last month.
Niguez is a creative midfielder, similar to Bruno Fernandes, so the move makes sense for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is looking for more creativity in the second row.
The Spaniard signed a nine-year contract at Atletico in 2017, which included a staggering £132m buyout clause so United would have to be in the ballpark of around £70m for his rights.
Niguez’s current Atletico £115,000-a-week deal would be in the range of £200,000-a-week if the move to Old Trafford is made.
