Arsenal are one of many teams who will be looking to bolster their attacking midfield once play resumes and one player drawing interest is Manchester United out-of-favor Jesse Lingard.
The Athletic claim that the £40million price tag to retain the rights of Dani Ceballos, who Arsenal have on loan from Real Madrid, might be more than they can afford in order to make the loan permanent in the summer.
As a result, the Gunners have shifted their interest to Lingard who has fallen down the pecking order at United, especially with the emergence of new signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.
Lingard’s transfer fee will be more affordable for Arsenal, thus the interest in the former English international.
Whether the move for Lingard materializes remains to be seen and it is understood any potential deal would depend on Ceballos’s future.
