Manchester United loanee and Sheffield United star goalkeeper Dean Henderson is the perfect example of what a loan to a smaller team is meant to do. Now The Sun reports that United are offering the 23-year-old an improved deal of £100,000-per-week to secure the goalkeeper’s long term future at the club.
Chelsea are rumored to be prepared to offer Manchester United around £50million for Henderson’s rights but the Englishman has told his Sheffield United teammates that he is willing to return to Bramall Lane if he isn’t guaranteed first-team time at Old Trafford.
Henderson, who has made 73 starts for the Blades, has two years remaining on his current deal with United, and it would be his fourth professional contract with the club, despite never starting a game for United.
With Henderson’s strong play at Sheffield United and David DeGea’s inconsistent play at times, calls are starting to get louder for Henderson to get an opportunity to start for Manchester United.
One position Manchester United are extremely strong is in the keeper position. Backup goalie Sergio Romero has 10 clean sheets in FA Cup and Europa League matches this season and could easily be a starter for any Premier League team.
