Inter Milan want to sign Ashley Young

Inter Milan appear to be ready to spend some money this January. Reports out of Italy are claiming the Italian side, who are currently leading Serie A, are ready to offer Manchester United defender Ashley Young a chance to continue his playing career.

Young, whose contract expires this season, is reportedly ready to leave Old Trafford but not quite ready to hang his boots up.

Despite being fully healthy, Young was left out of the 3-1 Carabao Cup loss to Manchester City yesterday. MEN is reporting that it is because the 34-year-old club captain is on his way out to join Inter.

This isn’t the first time Inter Milan’s head coach Antonio Conte has tried to sign Young. While at Chelsea in 2017, Conte unsuccessfully tried to lure Young to Stamford Bridge.

When asked last night about the rumors of Young’s possible departure, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave a cryptic answer, not really confirming or denying it.

“There is always a chance teams will be interested in some of ours, maybe they’re not happy, haven’t played enough, so there might be a chance.”

Since this is the last year of his contract, Young is now able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club.

Inter Milan are apparently looking for a move soon instead of waiting until his contract is up in the summer and United might be willing to let Young go sooner rather than later for a small fee, instead of losing him for free in the summer.
