Erling Braut Haaland considering United offer

Multiple reports from a Norwegian newspaper claimed that RB Salzburg star and Manchester United transfer target Erling Haaland was on a flight to Manchester for talks with United regarding a potential transfer.
According to the site, Haaland’s plane was supposed to touch down at 10:15 AM but United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is adamant that Haaland and his father are just passing through Manchester for a connecting flight.
Asked during his press conference before the Watford match this weekend, Solskjaer replied:
“Well… he’s not coming to Manchester. I know the boy and I know his friends and he’s on a Christmas holiday. You can’t fly anywhere from Stavanger, you need to go via a connecting flight.”
When asked if he would see Haaland before his apparent connecting flight, he replied: “No.”
Earlier this week, a new twist in the Haaland transfer appeared. The Express mentioned that United could secure Haaland’s transfer rights in January but loan him back to RB Salzburg to finish the season.
Although Haaland seems to be scoring at will for RB Salzburg, the play of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood this season could see Haaland on the bench more than on the field. If he is loaned back, he will continue to play and improve his skills for an eventual move to United this summer. Multiple reports indicate that Haaland is prioritizing playing time as he chooses his next destination, but United may still be his first choice, despite the competition for places.
RB Salzburg do not have a fixture until February 15 due to the winter break in the Austrian league.
